I became interested in photography & motorsports as a teenager in England in the 1960's and photographed my first race 54 years ago - at the 1970 British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch . I had studied Photography at Art College in the UK but decided against it as a profession and spent more than 25 years in the Automobile Business - initially in Scotland and, after relocating to the USA in 1981, in California.
When I began working as a Photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area, I shot a mix of News, PR Events, Real Estate and Aerial photography - but after my early adoption of Digital Photography in the late1990's, I took advantage of the new technology to create SPEEDFOTOS and enter the rapidly-expanding Event Photography Business.
We dedicated much of the next two decades to providing on-site Photography Services to organizers of Trackdays and Corporate Events held at racetracks across the USA. We also covered a wide variety of Professional Motorsports - spending the majority of our time working with Track Marketing Depts., Race Teams and their Corporate Sponsors.
I have been retired for quite a while now - but during my extended recovery from Quintuple Bypass Open Heart Surgery, I needed something to help keep me occupied and I decided to learn some new Website Design software, update my website - and put a few images back online.
I still enjoy using my collection of vintage Film and Digital cameras - although these days, I am just as likely to be seen using my iPhone...
